Our Nature-Based Philosophy

At Wings Early Childhood Center, we respect families as the child’s first teachers and understand our primary role is to support each unique family. We care not only about the educational enrichment and daily needs of each child, but also the needs of individual families we serve. We understand the importance of early childhood education, and we have made it our goal to show our families the importance of education by allowing each child to openly create, explore, and discover their natural world.

We also understand that learning cannot take place without a loving and caring environment provided by both families and caregivers. All Wings employees make it their priority to provide loving bonds with children to start the learning process. It is also important to us that we form positive relationships with our families as we understand that parents are the experts of their children, and we are the experts on their education and development. We hope to work closely with all families to ensure their children are receiving the quality education they deserve while learning in non-traditional, natural ways.

Our Center

It is our pleasure to serve the community of Pagosa Springs and Archuleta County by providing high-quality early childhood care in a safe, warm, nurturing, and natural environment, and to add the only center-based infant program in Pagosa!

Our vision is to promote learning through play and natural discovery. As educators, we support children through their early years, giving them the wings to fly.

With a whole-child & natural approach, our goal is to reach a Level 3 with Colorado Shines quality rating system in the next year (by 2025).

Wings has 5 classrooms serving ages 6 weeks-5.

Prekinder Room: 4-5yrs

Preschool Room: 3-4yrs

Toddler Room: 2-3yrs

Wobbler Room: 1-2yrs

Infant Room: 6 weeks-1yr
