Help Wings Grow!

Wings Early Childhood Center is in the completion stages for our large expansion project! With this expansion, we have built two new preschool rooms, three new playgrounds (outdoor classrooms), and a commercial kitchen. Our current preschool room will then be used as an infant room providing care for children as young as 6 weeks old!

We have begun the childcare licensing process for our new classrooms, with the hope of enrolling preschoolers and infants in September/October 2024!

Kitchen: Wings provides a breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack for each child attending Wings at no additional cost. With a newly added kitchen, our talented chef will be able to expand the meals offered at Wings! Instead of her current kitchen setup of using hot plates, griddles, and a convection microwave oven, she will have a fully operational oven, a large pantry, and a full sink and dishwasher.

Preschool Rooms: Each new preschool room (there will be two) will be built large enough to hold a maximum of 26 children each. We plan to start small with a 1:8 ratio (max of 16 students with 2 teachers) in each room and increase our ratio as we grow our services. We are so excited to offer a preschool program AND a pre-kindergarten program allowing us to split the age gap. Our current preschool program allows a mixed age of 3-5. With our new rooms, we will have a 3-4 year old room and a 4-5 year old room. What a relief!

Outdoor Classrooms: Being a nature-based school, we pride ourselves in our outdoor spaces. Wings will be building 3 new playgrounds which children will be spending 50-80% of their time! These outdoor classrooms will be for the new preschool rooms as well as our infant program. Yes! Our infants deserve outdoor classrooms as well!

Infant Program: Our current preschool room will be renovated into our new infant room. This room will be large enough to provide care to a total of 9 infants with 2 qualified teachers. We are excited to be the first center in Pagosa Springs to provide infant care! Our local parents deserve high-quality care and options for their infants as young as 6 weeks of age!
