Becca is a Colorado native with a passion for working with kids. After graduating from Fort Lewis College with her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, she began working as the toddler teacher at the Mercy Employee Child Care Center in Durango. She started working at Wings as a preschool teacher in August of 2020 and was offered the job as the Director in January of 2021. She's happy to be given the opportunity to help Pagosa Springs raise its little ones with quality education and love.
Prior to working at Wings, Carol worked as a nurse's assistant for over 20 years. She has also taken many courses to further her education in early childcare, she has experience working with children with special needs, and she will be receiving her master's degree in early childhood education in March of 2022. She hopes to bring her expertise and love for children to Wings to help our program expand and succeed!
Kristin moved from Oklahoma to teach at Wings! She started working privately with children with autism. This work made her interested in pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. Now she has her Bachelor’s from East Central University of Oklahoma. She loves being able to teach young minds and is excited to bring her knowledge and experience to Wings!
Buen grew up in the Philippines and married a great man moving her to the U.S. with their baby boy. She graduated college with a bachelor's degree in management accounting. After college, she voluntarily served as a full-time missionary for 18 months at northern Luzon in the Philippines teaching. That was the start of her desire to teach. She moved to Ignacio for a short time and worked with toddlers for one year while working on her CDA certification in early childcare. She loves working with children of all ages because they are each precious and unique!
Maddy has been in Pagosa for 34 years and is married with two grown children and 6 grandchildren. She worked in Escondido, CA at Central School to teach English and motor skills. Maddy also worked as a florist! She got her degree in Massage Therapy from Muller College of Massage in San Diego, CA. With that degree, Maddy opened an in-home service here in Pagosa with 25 years of management experience. When she's not working, she enjoys crafting of all kinds, walking/hiking, working with plants, playing with her two dogs and two cats, and reading every morning with a good cup of coffee before heading to work!
Sienna graduated from Fort Lewis College with a bachelor’s degree in public health. She has always been passionate about Early Childhood Education, with over 6 years of experience, and hopes to pursue additional education in the ECE field. Sienna brings a lot to the table by creating fun activities for her students, encouraging them to laugh and play, and helping to create a positive work environment. She is also a Colorado native, raised in Pagosa Springs, and nothing makes her happier than giving back to the community by building up the youth of Pagosa!
Jordyn is Wings' nutritionist! She prepares, plans, and shops for all our breakfasts, lunches, and snacks. Jordyn has created many excellent, healthy meals for the students and continues to think of new ways to make meals exciting and nutritious. She also maintains the school's cleanliness so families, students, and staff can see the center at its most refined 100% of the time. Jordyn brings innovation, creativity, and much value to the team. She hopes to continue serving Wings with a smile and a yum!
Hellie is responsible for the flow and ease of working in every classroom. She is a Pagosa Springs native and was born and raised here along with 8 of her siblings. She is the 3rd oldest of her family, and now lives in Chromo with her high school sweetheart Justin and their baby boy Ben! Hellie is thrilled to be a member of the Wings family, and can’t wait to see where this journey takes her.
Elizabeth brings light-hearted humor and fun to the Wings team while working wherever she is needed as a floater teacher. After more than a 20-year career as an educational sign language interpreter, she has retired to Pagosa with her border collie by her side. She is an avid gardener, and she is proud to grow her own food starting from seeds! She believes that children are a gift which is why she values working in childcare centers all around town!
