Becca is a Colorado native with a passion for working with kids. After graduating from Fort Lewis College with her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, she began working as the toddler teacher at the Mercy Employee Child Care Center in Durango. She started working at Wings as a preschool teacher in August of 2020 and was offered the job as the Director in January of 2021. She's happy to be given the opportunity to help Pagosa Springs raise its little ones with quality education and love.
Sienna graduated from Fort Lewis College with a bachelor’s degree in public health. She has always been passionate about Early Childhood Education, with over 6 years of experience, and hopes to pursue additional education in the ECE field. Sienna brings a lot to the table by creating fun activities for her students, encouraging them to laugh and play, and helping to create a positive work environment. She is also a Colorado native, raised in Pagosa Springs, and nothing makes her happier than giving back to the community by building up the youth of Pagosa!
Jordyn is Wings' nutritionist! She prepares, plans, and shops for all our breakfasts, lunches, and snacks. Jordyn has created many excellent, healthy meals for the students and continues to think of new ways to make meals exciting and nutritious. She also maintains the school's cleanliness so families, students, and staff can see the center at its most refined 100% of the time. Jordyn brings innovation, creativity, and much value to the team. She hopes to continue serving Wings with a smile and a yum!
Mariah has worked in early childhood education for over 7 years, with experience at another local center and as a home childcare provider. She has enjoyed playing, learning, and watching the children around her grow into amazing, brave little adults.
Mariah is a mom to an amazing little girl and a wife to a very supportive husband. She enjoys crafting, woodworking, drawing, fishing, hiking … really anything having to do with the outdoors! Most importantly, she loves being with her family and being silly!
Before coming to Wings, Gabbi worked in the medical field working for visiting angels here in Pagosa and many retirement homes. She also worked in New Mexico as a caregiver for adults with special needs. Gabbi decided it was time to switch gears and work with young children. She is super excited to be working at Wings learning new things from your children every day!
Dana moved to Pagosa in 2020 from Scottsdale Arizona. She was drawn to this community because she enjoys the great outdoors and all Pagosa has to offer!
Dana has a background working in Human Resources and since retiring has found joy in Nanning and working with children. She also likes to homestead on her ranch, aspiring to live farm-to-table, raising her own animals, and growing her own crops. She currently has dogs and horses and spends most of her time training her horses and horseback riding. When not hard at work, Dana also loves soaking in the natural hot springs!
Angelique (Bee) is originally from the front range but has spent the last 8 years in Durango, and recently moved to Pagosa. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband, walking her dog, Addie, and reading books.
Bee has been an Early Childhood teacher for over a year now. She has spent most of her life around children, from babysitting and nannying to her own siblings. Bee's favorite part of teaching is watching kids have that “ah-ha!” moment when they learn a new skill they have been working on mastering!
Leah was born in California and raised right here in Pagosa. She and her husband have two amazing kids, Aiden and Ariella. Leah has lived in Colorado most of her life but has spent some time in California, Nevada, Texas, and New Mexico. After some moving around, Leah is certain that she found her forever home where she was raised! Leah has worked at Wings with the Toddlers since December 2021 and studied Early Childhood Education. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting and making jewelry as well as hiking and fishing.
Prior to working at Wings, Carol worked as a nurse's assistant for over 20 years. She has also taken many courses to further her education in early childcare, she has experience working with children with special needs, and she will be receiving her master's degree in early childhood education in March of 2022. She hopes to bring her expertise and love for children to Wings to help our program expand and succeed!
Jessica is originally from Texas but moved to Colorado in 2021. She grew up on a farm surrounded by lots of animals. She enjoys spending time adventuring outside with her family kayaking, hiking, camping, and traveling to surrounding areas to explore. She has a son and loves watching him grow and learn. Before working with children, she worked in the automotive industry and enjoyed learning something new and hands-on while having the opportunity to help people. Jessica's favorite part about working with children now is watching their curiosity as they discover the world around them.
Shauntel is a Colorado native and was raised mostly in Denver and occasionally in Las Vegas. She moved to Pagosa in 2010, moved back to Vegas, and has now been in Pagosa since 2019. She is a new mom and now has a new passion for early childhood education. Shauntel spent many of her years in customer service and is extremely interpersonal. She loves all creative outlets; visual, music, dance, and writing. She's also working on her own novel. Giving children the freedom to learn and express themselves is why Shauntel switched to the early childhood field!
